(Sept. 30, 2024) Red River Youth Academy is pleased to announce the appointment of Sharron Carter as Chief Executive Officer. Carter was promoted to CEO from the position of Intake Coordinator.
Carter brings experience in management as she has been with Red River Youth Academy for 7 years. She has held various positions at Red River such as Mental Health Technician, Mental Health Supervisor, Grievance Coordinator, Intake Coordinator, and CPR Instructor. She is excited to take on her new role as Chief Executive Officer.
Carter has experience in management, budgeting, contracts, compliance, policy, performance management and support services, in addition to recruiting and retention, performance management and learning management systems.
“Because Ms., Carter has worked alongside of the Mental Health Techs they have more of a respect for her. She not only has a heart for the children, but the staff as well.” said Shari Murphree, CEO of sister facility Willow Crest Hospital. “Her background and experience in the health care field are an asset to the program. We look forward to continuing to improve and grow the facility’s programs under her leadership.”
Carter is a native of Tulsa, Okla. She attended Langston Oklahoma, where she obtained her Bachelors of Science in Correction. She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. She attended Union High School in Tulsa.
