At Red River Youth Academy, we are focused on keeping our patients and staff healthy and safe. We continue to monitor the Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) situation and are working in partnership with our state and county health departments, with guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Current preventative measures include increasing the frequency of cleaning and disinfectant practices, as well as increasing access to hand sanitizer. We have also enhanced our admission screening process and those who have traveled to a Level 2 or Level 3 country in the last 14-days will not be admitted. Those with immediate relatives having traveled to these countries will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.
Any Red River employees who have traveled to or intend to travel to Level 2 or Level 3 countries are required to self-quarantine from our facility for 14 days upon return to help reduce the potential spread of the virus.
The CDC states an individual who is exposed to the virus and contracts it will show symptoms within 2-14 days. Symptoms include fever of 100.0 degrees or higher, shortness of breath, and cough. Anyone having been exposed to COVID-19 or experiencing symptoms should contact their county health department and their primary care physician. For more information, please access the CDC website, which is updated daily: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html.
As always, please continue to wash your hands frequently with soap and water, keep your hands away from your face, do not share drinks, and be careful when using water fountains in public places.
